The latest installment of Portugalete's 'cuadernos portugalujos', set for presentation on Monday at Santa Clara, chronicles the town's urban and social development through photographs from the 1940s and 1950s.

A new edition of the 'cuadernos portugalujos', a series of booklets chronicling the history and photographs of the native town, will be unveiled next Monday at the Santa Clara cultural center. This latest volume focuses on the 1940s and 1950s, providing a visual journey through Portugalete's evolution and the era's urban, social, and political landscape.
The selected images depict the reconstruction of buildings after the war and urban modifications in iconic locations such as El Cristo, Coscojales street, the Carlos VII development, La Florida, Bailén street, and other significant sites within the town.
The new booklet also documents changes in social life, including festivals and sports, such as the inauguration of the La Florida field and the establishment of the Deportiva Náutica following the disappearance of the beach and the construction of swimming pools.
The official presentation will take place on Monday at 7:00 PM at Santa Clara. The Portugalete City Council will distribute 3,000 copies free of charge.
