The Arrigorriaga jeltzale party has submitted allegations against the informative study for phase II of the Bilbao Southern Railway Bypass, seeking to mitigate the project's impact on the municipality.

The document filed by the municipal group highlights the adverse effects the proposal would have on Arrigorriaga. Among the allegations, the party points out the lack of accessible information and public participation in a project «of great impact», as well as an insufficient evaluation of its environmental effects, as previously explained.
Furthermore, they have indicated that the quality of life for residents will be seriously affected, especially «in the form of noise, vibrations, and urban barriers». They also warn of the anticipated increase in freight traffic and associated risks, specifically concerning the transport of dangerous goods, as well as potential consequences for commuter rail services.

"It is not enough to take a stand. Allegations must be submitted, and rigorous work must be done to influence the project."

The party recalled that the City Council already presented allegations in 2008 and proposed alternatives in 2018 to ADIF, with the aim of preventing freight trains from passing through the town center. In this regard, the jeltzales advocate for the need to analyze viable alternatives, such as burying the route as it passes through the urban core or extending the tunnel to divert rail traffic towards the Rezola area.
