In what can be seen as a welcome surprise for their fans, the renowned Basque supergroup Peiremans has officially announced their return after a decade-long hiatus. The band, which includes Gorka Urbizu alongside members from other highly respected Basque acts such as Bide Ertzean and Balerdi Balerdi, has revealed plans for a comeback tour scheduled for the end of the year. Their sole performance in Bizkaia will take place at the Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao on December 29th.
Tickets for all announced concerts will go on sale this Thursday, June 11th. It remains uncertain whether this reunion will be accompanied by new music. "For now, it's all about the tour," sources close to Peiremans explained, adding, "We're back, true to our healthy habit of getting together every 10 years. Something huge is coming!"
The tour, aptly named Halley Tour 2026 after the comet visible only every few decades, signifies Peiremans' return to the stage. "We will play a series of concerts in December this year and then disappear again for a long time. We're already eagerly doing our warm-up exercises!" the group stated.
Tickets for the tour will be available starting Thursday, June 11th, at 11:00 AM via www.musikaze.net/peiremans. The concerts will kick off on December 4th at the Atabal venue in Biarritz. Subsequent dates include Sanagustin in Azpeitia (December 11th), Jimmy Jazz in Vitoria–Gasteiz (17th), Zentral in Iruñea (23rd), Dabadaba in Donostia (26th and 27th), concluding at the Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao on December 29th.
The band has launched a new Instagram account, @peiremansband, encouraging followers to "stay tuned for all the news that will be announced in the coming dates."
Peiremans is considered a side project for its members, separate from their main bands. The combo, featuring Gorka Urbizu (former leader of Berri Txarrak and now a successful solo artist), Imanol Ubeda (formerly of Bide Ertzean and currently leading Don Inorrez), Marino Goñi on bass, and Txiki on drums (both from Balerdi Balerdi), has described it as "a fun diversion."
The quartet, known for its power pop sound, shares guitar and vocal duties between Urbizu and Ubeda. They debuted in 2005 with a self-titled five-song EP, followed a decade later by another short album, Bigarren saria. The latter was recorded at Bonberenea studios in Tolosa, with Karlos Osinaga serving as sound engineer. The group's name was inspired by a footballer signed by Real Sociedad who never debuted due to injury.
