The Euskal Jaiak of Ortuella 2026 will be held from October 2nd to 4th, 2026. The program includes numerous activities, such as events for schoolchildren, magic and circus shows, musical performances, and gastronomic competitions.
On Friday, October 2nd, the morning will feature activities for schoolchildren, including the shows "Marietak Zirkus" and a magic show by Asier Kidam. In the afternoon, there will be a ginkana and a chorizada, and the evening will conclude with a romería by the group Sukar.
On Saturday, October 3rd, there will be a children's park and an artisans' fair in the morning and afternoon. At midday, children's workshops organized by Lurgazte will take place. In the afternoon, a derby will be played between Ortuellako Jendea and C.D. Ortuella at the football field. At seven in the evening, the omelette contest will begin, followed by a street parade with the Txaranga Dunbots. In the evening, there will be the presentation of the omelette contest entries and the cuadrilla dinner, with a romería by Sukar.
On Sunday, October 4th, the morning will start with the bean contest, followed by a parade of txistularis (Basque flute players) and Kantauri, wooden games. At midday, there will be a parade with the Joaldunak (traditional bell ringers) and the playroom will open. In the afternoon, there will be a putxera (bean pot) presentation and the popular community meal, followed by a percussion workshop. At four in the afternoon, Alitziri, a participatory romería, will take place, and at six, the awards ceremony.
Two categories will be established for deciding the prizes: youth (up to 18 years old) and the rest of the cuadrillas (families and adults). Each winning cuadrilla will receive 150 euros, a trophy, and the right to read the greeting or proclamation of the next Euskal Jaiak for the youth cuadrilla.
