Music Agenda in Bizkaia: Spannabis, Tributes and Diverse Concerts This Weekend

Bizkaia's stages will host a wide range of musical events this weekend, from the Spannabis fair at BEC to various concert halls.

The music agenda in Bizkaia this weekend features concerts by Lova Lois, Kiliki, Vittersweet, and La Basu, among others, as part of the Spannabis fair at BEC, alongside tributes to Mecano, La Polla Records, Los Suaves, and Chet Baker.

This weekend, Bizkaia's music scene is set to be vibrant with a diverse array of events. Highlights include performances by artists such as Lova Lois, Kiliki, Vittersweet, and La Basu, taking place within the framework of the Spannabis fair at BEC. Additionally, there will be tribute concerts dedicated to iconic groups like Mecano, La Polla Records, Los Suaves, and the legendary jazz musician Chet Baker. Recitals by artists such as Javi Medina, Maddi Oihenart, Ekiza, Fernandocosta, Def con Dos, and Mikel Markez will also enrich the cultural offering.
On Friday, April 17, Fernandocosta will perform at Santana 27 in Bilbao starting at 9:00 PM. Presbicia and Algazara will pay tribute to La Polla Records at Bilbao's Azkena venue at 9:00 PM, with tickets priced at 20 euros. This project, led by actor and film director Daniel Guzmán, aims to bring the anger and discourse of punk to the contemporary context. Def con Dos will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their album Alzheimer at Bilbao's Kafe Antzokia at 10:00 PM, with all tickets sold out.
The Spannabis fair, Europe's most significant cannabis event, will run until Sunday at the Bizkaia Arena in BEC, bringing together 300 exhibitors, nearly 4,000 professional guests, and 15 artists. Friday's musical program includes the Pantx Records collective, followed by Vulvas Soundsystem and Pulmón Beatbox. The main performances of the day will be by Lova Lois at 4:00 PM and the group Kulto Kultibo in the late afternoon. Also on Friday, Pepín Tre will present El resplandor de los pájaros at Kultur Leioa at 8:30 PM, and Eric Steckel will perform at Portugalete's Groove venue at 8:30 PM.
On Saturday, April 18, the show Hija de la Luna, a tribute to Mecano, will take place at Euskalduna Jauregia at 8:30 PM, with tickets starting from 54 euros. Actress and singer Robin Torres embodies Ana Torroja in this acclaimed performance. Bilbao's Villarias street will host the Record Store Day celebration with free concerts by Hippie Johnny, Elortegi Anayak, and Solomillo Wellington. Dulce Castigo will offer a tribute to Los Suaves at Bilbao's Kafe Antzokia at 10:00 PM. The OT tour will kick off at the Bizkaia Arena in BEC at 9:00 PM, with tickets starting from 55 euros. Within Spannabis, La Basu, Kiliki, and Vittersweet will perform from 11:00 AM. The tribute Chet Baker eta Itsasoa will be presented at Muxikebarri at 8:00 PM, with tickets at 10 euros.
On Sunday, April 19, Javi Medina will perform at Bilbao's Kafe Antzokia at 7:00 PM, as part of his Gato Negro Tour, with tickets priced at 27 euros. Ekiza will be at Herriko Benta in Artea at 1:30 PM. Maddi Oihenart and Juantxo Zeberio will present their joint album Lur at Torrezabal Kultur Etxea in Galdakao at 7:00 PM, with tickets at 10 euros. As part of Spannabis, Bombadil, Sustrai Sister & Jah Temper, Dubweiser, and Dj Rambla will offer reggae-focused sessions from 11:00 AM. Finally, the musical Go!azen 12.0 will have a performance at Barakaldo Antzokia at 6:00 PM, with tickets ranging from 8.5 to 10 euros.
