Metro Bilbao staff evacuated passengers from a train that broke down between the Abando and Casco Viejo stations on Monday night, around quarter past nine.

As a result of this incident, the metro service operated on a single track between the Santutxu and Abando stations, while the rest of the network continued to run on both tracks.

The presence of this broken-down train affected other stops on Line 1 of the metro, causing delays and requiring some passengers to leave their trains at other stations along the line.
