Loiu will transform into a medieval setting this weekend, offering music, parades, and street performances from Friday to Sunday.

The municipality of Loiu will once again transform into a grand medieval stage this weekend. From Friday to Sunday, the town will host the fourth edition of its fair, featuring entertainment and activities for the entire family. The Town Hall square and its surroundings will be decorated for the occasion with period-themed decor and dozens of stalls selling crafts, traditional food, and leather and ceramic products.
The program will kick off this Friday at 5:00 PM with the official opening of the venue and a grand inaugural parade led by musicians and characters who will march through the town center. Following this, the company Eulali will present street theater and participatory storytelling, while younger attendees can join in children's battles with foam swords and witness the exhibition of full-size catapults, one of the event's most popular attractions. One of the most anticipated moments will arrive at 9:00 PM with the appearance of the Holy Inquisition and the traveling performance 'Anyone Can Be a Heretic,' a show noted for its atmosphere and staging. The first day will conclude at 9:30 PM with a concert by Luky Luk in Arontsotegi square.
Tomorrow, the opening parade will take place at 11:00 AM. Throughout the day, there will be guided tours of the torture instruments exhibition, puppet theater, and street performances. The first concert of the day (8:00 PM) will be by the group Moses and the Tablets, and two hours later, the Orquesta Jamaica Show will take the stage.
Sunday will maintain the same festive spirit with activities starting at 11:00 AM. The final day will also include the distribution of 1,000 solidarity hamburgers for residents and visitors, followed by several musical performances, including Bilbotxeros Band (12:45 PM and 6:15 PM). In the afternoon, a live forging of a sword, which will remain as a memento for the municipality, can be observed. The schedule will continue with dance and music performances before the grand final farewell parade scheduled for 8:00 PM.
