The municipality of Leioa has consolidated its collective memory through the 'Secret Archive' literary contest, part of its 500th-anniversary celebrations, focusing on the personal experiences of its residents.

The town of Leioa has gathered its most intimate stories through the Secret Archive initiative. This project aims to build the municipality's memory not only through major events, but through the emotions and memories that remain in the silence of its residents.
The ten stories submitted have reflected the town's evolution and the emotional bond of its inhabitants. Most works highlighted iconic spots such as Pinosolo, Lamiako, Artaza, or Ondiz, turning local heritage into the main setting for their narratives.

"This project has shown us that the history of a town is not built solely from great events; often, it is the emotions, memories, and experiences that remain in silence that shape our identity with greater intensity."
