Leioa is celebrating a new edition of the Solidarity Book Fair from September 14th to 16th. The event will take place at the Kultur Leioa exhibition hall, featuring over 2,000 books for sale at a symbolic price of 2 euros. All proceeds will go to the social projects of the Sortarazi association's Hazia Program, focusing on covering the basic needs of vulnerable individuals and families.
The fair will be open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, offering visitors the opportunity to participate in this initiative that combines culture and solidarity. The books have been collected throughout the year and selected and classified by the staff of the Leioa Library.
This year's proceeds will once again support Sortarazi, an organization that has benefited from funds in previous editions. In the 2025 edition, approximately 3,180 euros were raised and used to support the recovery of libraries affected by the DANA in 2024 in various municipalities in Valencia.
The Solidarity Book Fair continues to establish itself as an event that unites culture and solidarity in Leioa, giving new life to thousands of books and turning each purchase into a direct contribution to projects that help improve the living conditions of those in need.
