A large fire engulfed an abandoned house in Getxo's Ormaza neighborhood this Sunday, creating a dramatic plume of smoke and flames visible from various parts of the municipality.

Sources from the Bizkaia Fire Department confirmed that individuals were staying inside the property at the time of the incident. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
The alarm was raised in the early hours of the morning, reporting a fire in a dilapidated building in the area. Several fire brigades were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they encountered a fully developed and highly virulent blaze, largely fueled by the wooden structure and likely by accumulated materials inside the dwelling.
Firefighters from the mobilized stations worked quickly to prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent buildings, and the fire was declared extinguished by 7:00 AM. Due to the intensity of the fire, the roof and part of the building's internal structure suffered severe damage, leaving the house practically in ruins.
