The small power plant in Artunduaga, owned by Luis Ocharan Jaunaren, was constructed by contractor Domingo Ochandiano Larrea in 1921 at the Artunduaga Bridge, on the right bank of the Nerbioi River.
On September 10, 1921, the Municipal Architect Victoriano Echeverria Jaunak issued a report stating that the owner, without any permit, had demolished part of the bridge's parapet and built a quay next to the building's west facade, affecting the light and appearance of the municipally owned bridge.
The City Council, in its session of January 17, 1922, accepted the sum of 4,000 pesetas offered by Mr. Ocharan as compensation for the damages caused, thereby closing the previously opened sanctioning file.
The plant utilized the dam and discharge channel of what was formerly the Ironworks and later the Artunduaga Iron Factory. This channel continued to be used until its demolition in 1970.
No trace of the plant remains, although the area of the east parapet of the bridge, which was affected by the plant's construction, was restored to its original 1909 condition in 2011, following the works for the construction of the new bridge and the renovation of the old one.
