The Bilbao City Council has announced the reopening of the playground located at number 62 Camino de Peñascal, in the Iturrigorri neighborhood, following the completion of renovation works. This initiative, carried out as part of the Auzokide Plana for District 7, has created a new children's play area, enhancing the aesthetic and landscape quality of the surroundings.
Key improvements include the relocation and expansion of the children's zone to optimize available space, the renovation of the pavement and enclosures, the upgrade of public lighting with LED luminaires, the renewal of the drainage system, and the installation of new urban furniture and seating areas.
The project also involved a landscaping intervention on the existing slope, featuring micro-perforated metal structures in various colors and textures.
The new children's playground covers approximately 150 square meters and is equipped with a large multi-play structure composed of seven interconnected modules, as well as swings, spinning elements, and spring riders adapted for different ages and abilities.
Additionally, new seating areas with benches, armchairs, and tables have been established, along with a specific area for physical exercise and healthy activities.
