The Getxo women's basketball team has ended the season on a high note, defeating Gazte Berriak 67-48 and securing promotion to the First National Division.

On May 16th, the team celebrated the end of a successful season with a decisive victory. Despite initial nerves, the Getxo players demonstrated their year-long effort and dedication, particularly in the second half after halftime.
Coach Frank Herrera acknowledged that winning does not guarantee an easier next season. "We have become champions, yes, but before thinking about the challenge, there are many organizational and planning aspects to consider," he stated.
Herrera explained that coaching a team involves more than just motivation, requiring comprehensive mental, physical, tactical, and technical training. He highlighted the collaborative work of the team, the assistant coach, and the physical trainer.
Having been with the team for three years, Herrera described his experience as "excellent." He praised the players for their focus, lack of complaints, and consistent 100% effort, adding, "We don't have extraordinary talent, but we are very hardworking and never spare any effort."
The coach also emphasized the club's identity, characterized by a refusal to "spare sacrifices, give up without a fight, or concede a single ball." He further commended the support of Vascons Getxo, noting the "great effort, work, and sacrifice behind the club."
