Machinery is already operating in the Sarrikobaso area, in Algorta, to modernize its hydraulic infrastructures with an investment of 339,020 euros. This intervention, promoted by the City Council, will take place between Salsidu and Redentor, extending to Bidezabal, with the goal of renewing supply pipes and preventing overflows. This marks the first of three planned construction phases.
Currently, several sections feature a unitary system that channels both wastewater and rainwater together, a configuration that has led to incidents during periods of intense precipitation. Therefore, the future network will allow for better flow management, optimize evacuation, and minimize both odors in dry seasons and filtrations. The projected timeline sets an execution period of approximately 13 weeks.
Among the main actions, the creation of a new collector for water from Sarrikobaso and existing channels stands out. Additionally, several already separated rainwater networks will be connected to this infrastructure, preventing their discharge into unitary conduits. This measure will help reduce the volume of liquid circulating during rainfall, a situation that has previously caused incidents at various points.
“"This action responds to the need to renew and improve basic facilities. The objective is to move towards a more efficient model, prevent incidents, and ensure proper long-term operation."
