The association Galdakao Gogora has organized an excursion to the Miranda de Ebro concentration camp (Burgos) on September 26th. The departure is at 09:00 from the town hall, with return at 15:00, by bus. The organization highlights that between 1937 and 1944, 65,000 prisoners were held there, including many Basques. Additionally, the traditional sack race during Galdakao's festivals has concluded, with the Güsak cuadrilla (group of friends) emerging as this year's winner. The Antropayak, Trabukiak, Sukuzu, and Kamikatxe cuadrillas also received bonus points.
Furthermore, on Thursday, September 17th, the theater company Barsanti, led by Pako Revueltas from Galdakao, will present the street theater play ‘Kodizia Late Night’. This tragicomedy explores themes of greed and the legitimacy of business in public health, recounting stories of historical figures.
Other highlights of the festivities include the cuadrilla parade and the chupinazo (opening rocket). Galdakao's festivals will continue until September 20th, offering a wide range of activities.
