The Santakurtzak festivities in Galdakao will be celebrated from September 11 to 20, with a total of 145 organized activities. The festival program includes concerts, street entertainment, theater performances, events organized by associations, and proposals linked to tradition and Basque culture.
The Councilor for Fiestas, Amets Iturbe, has highlighted the wide variety of actions aimed at citizens of different ages. Specifically, there will be 14 concerts, 21 street animations, 9 theater and dance shows, 48 association activities, 26 events for children and youth, and other traditional and cultural proposals.
Mayor Iñigo Arriandiaga has called for respect for the town and its surroundings, while Izaskun Zorroza, a member of the Festival Committee, has emphasized interpersonal respect and the gastronomic competition for cuadrillas.
This year, the official proclamation will be delivered by Iskander Sagarminaga, and the chupinazo will be lit by Maria Casillas. Additionally, Ane Kareaga is the author of the festival's poster. Sagarminaga expressed gratitude for the opportunity from his hometown, and Casillas stated it is an honor to be the chupinera representing her cuadrilla.
The program details specific activities for each day, including parades, competitions, concerts, plays, and workshops, running from September 11 to 20.
