Residents of Etxebarri over 55 years old will have the opportunity to represent their municipality in the IV Activa Bizkaia Challenge taking place on September 18th in Bilbao. This event is organized by the Bilbao City Council in collaboration with SECOT Bizkaia, and several municipalities, including Etxebarri, have joined to position the territory as a benchmark for healthy living.
This collective challenge for individuals over 55 years old consists of 12 hours of physical exercise through individual relays, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, either walking for one hour or running for 30 minutes, on a circuit set up in the center of Bilbao (Muelle de Ripa, Puente Calatrava, Paseo Uribitarte).
Registrations can be made through the website www.activabizkaia.com, where you can select your preferred modality (walking or running) and the municipality you represent. The first 100 people to register representing Etxebarri will receive an exclusive t-shirt to represent their municipality. T-shirts will be distributed at the CIME on September 16th (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM) and on September 17th (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM).
A total of 26 Bizkaia town councils have joined this challenge, including Etxebarri, the Vizcaya College of Physicians, the EHU (University of the Basque Country), and the Bilbao Talento Foundation. Through this initiative, the Etxebarri City Council reaffirms its commitment to the well-being and quality of life of its residents, encouraging all citizens over 55 to join this collective challenge and be part of a day that combines sport and health.
