The taekwondo club The Masters Basauri has emerged victorious in the senior Bizkaia Championship, held this weekend at the Miribilla fronton.

The team from Basauri participated with twenty athletes and clinched fifteen out of the sixteen gold medals available, along with five silvers. This achievement marks the second-best result in the club's history, surpassed only by their perfect score of sixteen golds in 2020.
Following the competition, the Sports Department of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia presented the awards for the season's best athletes, sponsored by Kirolur. Both accolades went to The Masters athletes: Maialen Rentería and Iván Mediavilla. This success reaffirms the Basauri-based club's supremacy in the province, where they have been dominant in most tournaments.
On the same Saturday, the school combat games for the benjamin and alevin categories also took place, where the club also achieved excellent results. Nine golds and eight silvers positioned The Masters as the top gym in the competition. Notably, Janire Maleta and Maider Martínez achieved a treble, winning consecutively in all three age groups of this category (9, 10, and 11 years old).
