Bilbao Basket today unveiled its new official anthem, featuring music by the group Shinova and performed entirely in Basque, which will premiere at Miribilla this Thursday during the match against Real Madrid.

“Hiri honen magaletik laztandu egin nuen zerua; nortasuna zainetatik ilun bezala disdiratsua; ardi beltzak izateaz harro sentitzen gara…”. These are the opening lines of Bilbao Basket's new anthem, set to music by the Biscayan group Shinova. The anthem was presented this Tuesday at Bilborock, accompanied by a spectacular video.
The club emphasized that the decision for the anthem to be entirely in Basque was a clear one, as they were certain it needed to be “in our language and with elements characteristic of the sound of our land.” It will be heard for the first time at Miribilla this Thursday, before the game against Real Madrid, scheduled for 7:00 PM.
The video accompanying the anthem was filmed last March with the participation of a hundred fans, who acted as extras in scenes shot in Miribilla and the Old Town. Additionally, the video showcases significant locations such as La Arboleda, Mount Pagasarri, the Arenal and City Hall bridges, and the Miribilla neighborhood itself.
