For the first time, Arabella joins this initiative by the Bilbao City Council, which will continue in June in Santutxu and in July in Abando, completing a summer itinerary through different areas of the city.
To participate in the tours, prior reservation is required through the Bilbao Izan website. Registrations will open this Monday, from 09:00 AM for the first two weeks of the month, and on May 18, at the same time, for the second half of the month.
These are free, outdoor, walking tours, lasting approximately one and a half hours, where participants will be accompanied by a guide who will explain historical content in a simple and illustrative manner.
“"Arabella is an enclave that allows understanding Bilbao's urban expansion in the second half of the 20th century. Born as a planned neighborhood to respond to population growth, it currently maintains its own identity marked by neighborhood life and the daily use of its spaces."
Tours will take place on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, on Thursdays at 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM in Euskera, on Fridays at 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM, on Saturdays at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and on Sundays at the same times.
Additionally, one of the sessions will feature a sign language interpreter, specifically the one scheduled for the third Friday of the month, May 22, at 6:30 PM. As a novelty, individuals requiring this service can request it from the beginning of the registration period through a specific section enabled on the website.
