Two accidents, one on the A-8 near Muskiz and another on the AP-8 in Bilbao, resulted in substantial traffic jams and disruptions lasting up to three hours on Biscay's roads this Sunday afternoon.

A collision involving several vehicles on the A-8 motorway near Muskiz, heading towards Bilbao, caused a traffic jam stretching up to 10 kilometers. According to the Basque Government's Security Department, the disruptions lasted for approximately three hours and also affected roads in Cantabria and the N-634.
Separately, on the AP-8 motorway within the municipality of Bilbao, close to Alonsotegi, a serious accident involving a motorcyclist occurred. The incident, which happened in the direction of Cantabria, led to two lanes being closed for an hour, causing significant congestion. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital.
Both incidents occurred shortly before 7:00 PM, complicating the return journey on a day marked by high temperatures.
