The C1 commuter line of Renfe, which links Bilbao with Santurtzi, has registered delays this morning due to an incident in the signaling system caused by cable theft in the section between Lutxana-Barakaldo and Zorrotza.

According to Adif, technicians are working to resolve the fault “as soon as possible” and restore normal service. The damage caused by this theft has affected train circulation since early morning.
Furthermore, circulation on the C3 line, connecting Bilbao with Orduña, has been reestablished after an incident at Arrigorriaga station was repaired at 9:25 AM. The fault, detected in the early hours, forced the interruption of railway traffic between Ugao-Miraballes and Bidebieta.

"Technicians are working to resolve the fault as soon as possible and restore normal service."

This incident occurred during the renovation work on interlockings and installations being carried out by Adif in the area, necessitating the implementation of an alternative road transport plan by Renfe. Once the incident was resolved, the operator indicated that trains would progressively recover their usual frequencies.
