The scout movement of Bizkaia has commemorated its 60-year journey at Bilbao's Doña Casilda Park, gathering over 2,500 people to celebrate Gorka Deuna day and the organization's sixtieth anniversary.

The scout movement of Bizkaia, known as Euskalerriko Eskautak Bizkaia, has celebrated its 60th anniversary at Bilbao's Doña Casilda Park. This event brought together over 2,500 people, including young members, leaders, and families, to observe Gorka Deuna day, the feast day of scouting's patron saint.
The celebration commenced at 10:00 AM with various activities divided by age groups across different locations in Bilbao, converging at the park throughout the morning. Participants were easily identifiable by their neckerchiefs. Following the midday welcome ceremony, attended by representatives from the Basque Government and Bilbao City Council, a eucharist was held.

"Scouting offers a way to learn values, live in community, and acquire habits for life and work."

According to a federation president, the event's objective was to raise the visibility of the movement's work and emphasize scouting's importance in teaching values and fostering community life. Under the motto “Izana ospatu, izatea bilatu!” (Celebrate what you are, seek what you can be!), attendees were invited to reflect on the journey since 1966 and look forward to the future with enthusiasm.
The afternoon program included Zumba sessions and a multi-sport tournament featuring traditional games such as soka tira, lokotzak, and zelai errea, organized in collaboration with Bilbao Kirolak. The day concluded with a romería (pilgrimage/folk festival) and the emotional farewell song “Agur Eskaut”.
