Dozens of people gathered this Sunday morning in Bilbao, convened by the Bizkaiko E28 Koordinadora, to "denounce the multiple violences that affect the lives of people in the intertransmaribibollo collective (intersex, trans, queer, bisexual, lesbian, and other sexual and gender dissidents)". The event took place on the El Arenal bridge.
Under the slogan "Queer Revenge Against Violence", the coordinator denounced that "these violences are not isolated incidents, nor are they occasional mistakes". "We will not be silenced. We will not disappear", they stated in a released communiqué.
“"Our revenge is also the joy of existing and supporting each other: in our networks, in our parties, in our bodies, and in our alliances. A combative and subversive joy, one that cannot be assimilated."
The call, "open to all citizens and collectives wishing to show solidarity with queer people", brought together individuals who stated that "in the face of all this, we say it clearly: it is time to organize. It is time to respond. It is time to build collective strength".
Furthermore, they called on everyone to "organize, come to open assemblies, participate physically when possible, and be part, in whatever way, of this collective revenge".
