The Bilbao Municipal Police has launched a new special road surveillance and control campaign, running until Sunday, October 18th, focused on preventing accidents and regulating the circulation of Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs), commonly known as electric scooters.
The campaign will involve various checks, conducted both in the morning and afternoon, across all city districts, with alternating locations. Special emphasis will be placed on preventing and minimizing the risk of pedestrian accidents caused by certain situations and behaviors of PMV riders.
Furthermore, as part of this initiative, officers will monitor compliance with regulations by PMV riders, verifying their registration in the system enabled by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT).
This campaign is a self-initiated effort by the Bilbao Municipal Police, following the guidelines set by the Basque Government's Strategic Road Safety Plan.
