Bilbao Building Evacuated After Restaurant Extractor Fan Catches Fire

Residents of a building on Egaña Street in Bilbao were evacuated last night after the extractor fan of a well-known restaurant within the property caught fire.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight at the Kerren grill house. Firefighters rapidly extinguished the flames, and according to sources from the City Council, no injuries were reported. The fire generated a plume of «black smoke» in the building's internal courtyard, necessitating the evacuation of residents from number 23.
After the fire was put out and the premises were ventilated to ensure no health risks remained, the evacuated residents were able to return to their homes.
