The Bilbao City Council has completed the public lighting improvement works in Plaza Moyúa, with an approximate investment of 60,000 euros.

The Bilbao City Council has finalized the public lighting enhancement project in Plaza Moyúa. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to maintain, renew, and add value to “one of the city's most emblematic spaces,” with an approximate investment of 60,000 euros.
The project involved cleaning and polishing the 40 existing lighting columns in the plaza and replacing the previous 40 luminaires with new LED technology. This upgrade is expected to improve lighting quality and promote a more energy-efficient and sustainable model.
Furthermore, the works included the installation of new cabling, protective boxes, fuses, and nodes, comprehensively renewing the infrastructure associated with the lighting system, according to municipal sources.
The work, carried out over the past three weeks, coincided with the 'spring flower campaign' that will soon conclude in one of Bilbao's most significant green and ornamental spaces. The improved lighting also enhances the environment's image and landscape value, "reinforcing its appeal".
The seasonal flower campaign is a major ornamental undertaking, featuring two main annual plantings. The plaza will be adorned with a total of 20,000 turf-grown flowers and 2,000 potted plants, featuring a dynamic color scheme combining red, white, pink, lilac, yellow, and blue varieties.
