The Basque Government Council has approved the 2026 grant call for the development of archival organization and digitization programs, aimed at disseminating private documents and archive collections that form part of the Basque Autonomous Community's documentary heritage.
The budget allocation amounts to 80,000 euros and will be directed towards programs that:
- Organize historical archive collections, particularly those containing 20th-century documentation and constituting the Basque Country's Documentary Heritage.
- Digitize archive collections previously organized and described in a database. Projects must include the creation of a digital archive for permanent conservation and a digital copy for dissemination through the Euskadi Archive System website.
The programs eligible for subsidies must be carried out between January 1 and December 31, 2026. The application period will be one month from the day following the publication of the Order in the Official Gazette of the Basque Country.
In last year's call, 2025, the Basque Government subsidized 10 programs.
