The Barakaldo City Council has arranged an extensive summer activity program for young people aged 12 to 18, taking place from June 16 to July 8, offering diverse leisure and adventure opportunities.

Young people in Barakaldo are set for an active and enjoyable summer, thanks to a comprehensive program of activities organized by the city council for those aged 12 to 18. From June 16 to July 8, just before the El Carmen festivities begin, a variety of proposals will be offered, including surfing lessons in Sopelana, kayak trips to Santoña, and excursions to the Sopuerta Abentura zip-line park.
Additionally, participants will visit Taupada Abentura in Gorliz, where they will enjoy water activities, including canoe rides. Complementing this adventure and sports offering are music production workshops, where young people will learn to compose their own pieces using electronic programs and devices.
For astronomy enthusiasts, a special workshop will be held to create protective glasses for observing the first total solar eclipse visible from the Iberian Peninsula in over a century, scheduled for August 12. This workshop will be conducted with the collaboration of the Aranzadi Science Society.
While the music and astronomy workshops will be free, the other activities will have costs ranging from 5 to 12 euros. Pre-registration can be done in person at Giltzarri's topalekus or online through the electronic headquarters, from the 14th to the 24th of this month. Should applications exceed the number of available spots, a draw will be held on the 27th. Interested parties can find more information on the municipal website, the Giltzarri page, or by calling the usual phone numbers.
