As summer approaches, the Barakaldo City Council has prepared a comprehensive program of urban camps, one of the most important activities in its summer schedule. This year, 700 places will be available for children registered in the municipality, aged between three and eleven years old.
The registration period will open next Monday, and pre-registrations can be made until May 4. Procedures can be completed via telephone at 010, through the municipal website's electronic office, and at local cultural centers and civic centers. Should the number of applications exceed available places, a draw will be held on May 7 to select participants.
Barakaldo's summer urban camps will take place at the facilities of Juan Ramón Jiménez, El Pilar, and Ibaibe schools, divided into two shifts. The first shift will run from June 29 to July 10. The second shift will extend from July 13 to July 24. On July 16, El Carmen Day, children's camps will also be held despite being a public holiday. Recreational activities will be offered in both Basque and English, providing an ideal environment for learning through play.
Entry times for the camps will be between 08:15 and 09:00. Children not using the dining service will leave between 14:00 and 14:15, one hour earlier than those who do. Low-income families will pay the same fee, with or without dining. For others, the cost will vary based on income, ranging from 34.20 to 100.50 euros without dining, and between 34.20 and 122.50 euros with dining.
