Police arrested a 35-year-old man yesterday in an abandoned factory in the Arkotxa neighborhood of Zaratamo after he attacked another person with a utility knife.

The Ertzaintza (Basque police) arrested a 35-year-old individual yesterday in an abandoned factory located in the Arkotxa neighborhood of Zaratamo, following an assault on another person with a utility knife. The incident occurred yesterday morning, around 08:15, while the victim, a 37-year-old man, was sleeping there.
According to representatives of the Ertzaintza, the assailant, another man sleeping in the same building, removed the victim's blanket and attacked him with a utility knife, causing a wound to the abdomen. The attacker attempted to repeat the assault, but was prevented by the victim and several other individuals present.
Upon arrival, the police apprehended a man who was attempting to flee the factory. After identifying him as the perpetrator of the assault, he was arrested on charges of causing injuries with a bladed weapon. He was subsequently taken to police headquarters for the necessary procedures and later handed over to judicial authorities.
Ertzaintza officials stated that the arrested individual had been investigated previously.
