Athletic Club has set a goal to expand its international projects as part of the sporting policy driven by its Business Area. This initiative aims to enhance brand positioning and generate new revenue streams. To achieve this, the club is working on two key fronts that are continuously growing. One is the so-called Athletic Club Stage, held in Lezama for a week, where interested groups or clubs train using the methodology of the club's youth academy.
In 2025, the West Ham Academy and Jeonang Dragons from South Korea participated. More recently, a delegation from Wakatake Group from the Japanese city of Sapporo visited Bizkaia between April 16th and 23rd. This visit has strengthened commercial and sporting ties with Japan, following the successful first Training Camp conducted by Athletic in Osaka, Chiva, and Kanagawa last January. These Training Camps involve on-site training sessions delivered by instructors and coaches from Lezama.
From an economic and business perspective, these initiatives have received significant support. This reinforces Athletic's commitment to continuing the development of these international projects in the future. The club intends to explore new geographies and opportunities to expand the club's brand, with the United Kingdom and the Netherlands being considered as feasible markets in the medium term.
