The local government has approved a budget of 104,000 euros with the goal of generating and sustaining employment. These aid lines will promote permanent employment contracts, self-employment through entrepreneurship, and indirect employment by strengthening local commerce and hospitality.
“"Every euro in this package is designed to create or sustain employment: salaried employment with permanent contracts, self-employment through entrepreneurship, and indirect employment by strengthening local commerce and hospitality."
The grants place special emphasis on groups with difficult employability, such as long-term unemployed individuals, young people, those over 55 years old, and recipients of the Minimum Income for Inclusion (RGI).
The first line, named Abanto Enpresa, with a budget of 55,000 euros, is designed to incentivize companies to hire unemployed individuals from Abanto-Zierbena. This aid will finance up to 50% of permanent contracts, whether part-time or full-time, signed between January 1 and December 31, 2026. The subsidy will amount to 8,000 euros for full-time contracts, and 10,000 euros if the hired person belongs to one of the vulnerable groups.
The second line, Abanto Ekintzaileak 2026, is aimed at local entrepreneurs and has an allocation of 18,000 euros. This program supports business projects created in the municipality between November 1, 2025, and October 31, 2026. The aid will be 1,000 euros, with an additional 100 euros for female entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the Abanto Zierbena Aurrera Pauso program offers a monthly subsidy of 200 euros during the first year for the purchase or rental of inactive premises, with 16,000 euros reserved for this initiative.
Finally, the Abanto Zierbena Merkataritza 2026 program, with a budget of 15,000 euros, will encourage the modernization of the municipality's commercial and hospitality sector. It will cover 20% of the improvements made in establishments during this year, with a limit of one thousand euros.
