Egurtek, the International Forum of Wood Architecture and Construction, will hold its eleventh edition on October 28 and 29 at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC). The event will bring together professionals, companies, and international leaders to share knowledge, experiences, and solutions.

The forum will feature an International Congress, specialized Technical Conferences, and an Exhibition Area where nearly 80 companies from the sector will present their latest solutions and innovations. Additionally, networking activities will take place, and the VIII Egurtek Awards will be presented.
Raúl Pérez Iratxeta, Deputy Minister of Food and Rural Development of the Basque Government, participated in the event's presentation. He emphasized the importance of this meeting, which will connect professionals who produce and transform wood with those who can find new applications for it. "Sustainable construction is opening new possibilities for wood, and Euskadi has the opportunity to leverage them, strengthening the connection between the management of our forests, industry, and the professionals who incorporate wood into their projects, as outlined in the recently presented Euskadi Wood Strategic Plan 2030," he added.
Within Egurtek, the international congress will gather national and international leaders to showcase the potential of wood in rehabilitation, housing, engineering, and innovative construction systems. The Technical Conferences, organized by Baskegur-Euskadi Wood Association, will focus on four key areas: heritage rehabilitation, habitability, industrialization, and fire safety.
The Exhibition Area will host nearly 80 exhibiting companies from Germany, Australia, the United States, France, Italy, Romania, and the Netherlands. They will present machinery and technologies for the wood industry, construction materials and systems, insulation solutions, and products for wood treatment and protection.
The VIII Egurtek Awards will recognize the best projects in wood architecture and construction during a gala at the end of the first day. Finalist projects have been selected in the categories of Building, Interior Design, and Product Design, along with special awards for Bois/Egurra/Madera (BEM), Local Wood (Basque Quality), and Diffusion.
Furthermore, the WORKinn initiative will promote talent and employment. Some participating companies, in collaboration with Lanbide, will present their job offers and training initiatives related to talent and generational change.
Egurtek will also coincide with the Week of Wood, organized by Baskegur from October 26 to November 1, which aims to highlight the importance of the forest-wood sector for Euskadi, both for its economic contribution and its role in environmental sustainability.
