The Albian Green seal is a technical evaluation system for cleanrooms, critical areas, and contamination-controlled facilities. Its aim is to assist clients across all industrial sectors in reducing energy consumption and environmental footprint, while ensuring the highest standards in clean architecture, HVAC engineering, process safety, and regulatory compliance.
In a cleanroom or critical environment, the demands are continuous: architecture must guarantee perfect airtightness as HVAC systems renew and filter air, maintain pressure differentials between rooms, and regulate temperature and humidity. This high level of technical requirement leads to significant energy consumption and substantial annual operating costs.
The evaluation focuses on four strategic axes: energy efficiency, environment, innovation, and lifecycle. Based on this analysis, it generates the Albian Green Integration Index, which defines the facility's overall performance and assigns it a Category: Eco, Prime, or Elite.
The system considers the typology and technical conditions of each project, seeking the best possible outcome with the specific resources and constraints of each case.
For the company managing or operating the facility, the seal offers clear added value: it integrates sustainability criteria from the project's inception, provides a technical report to justify the facility's ESG perspective to investors or management, and ensures the installation is optimized for responsible consumption throughout its lifespan.
This proposal aligns with two key objectives of the Euskadi 2030 Industrial Plan: the 'Less emissions' axis and the promotion of the biopharmaceutical industry. In the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector, where each square meter of cleanroom is costly to build and maintain, precise measurement is the first step towards reducing expenditure.
Albian, founded in 1987 as Ingeclima, has nearly four decades of experience operating from Bilbao. Today, it offers a 360º service encompassing the design, construction, manufacturing, equipping, validation, and maintenance of cleanrooms, biopharmaceutical processes, and high-containment areas.
The company designs and manufactures its clean architecture solutions, including its enclosures, inflatable-seal doors for maximum hermeticity, and modular laboratories. It also provides equipment for critical areas, such as its emblematic SAS / pass-through units and decontamination showers.
Through Albian Care, the company prioritizes maintenance, ensuring operational continuity and the preservation of airtightness and efficiency standards throughout the facility's entire lifecycle. In total, Albian serves over 500 clients and has managed more than 400,000 m² of cleanrooms.
Albian's commitment to sustainability is not new; the company registered the calculation of its carbon footprint with the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO).
Furthermore, the company has showcased its solutions for biotechnological and pharmaceutical environments at major industry forums, participating in Farmaforum and BIOSPAIN 2026, held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre.
