The Gipuzkoa Cancer Association has expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the annual fundraising event held in Zumarraga and Urretxu on June 6th, which successfully raised 2,222 euros. The collected funds will be allocated to oncological research and to support the association's free services, operating under the slogan 'When you stop, we move against cancer'.
The association emphasizes that a seemingly small gesture, such as stopping at a donation box or collection table, activates a collective movement capable of driving research, improving care, and fostering hope. These fundraising efforts are crucial for continuing to finance oncological research projects, providing support and accompaniment programs for both patients and their families, and advancing campaigns for prevention and early detection, aiming to achieve a 70% cancer survival rate.
It is also reminded that all the association's services are provided free of charge, making initiatives like this essential for their maintenance.
“"Queremos agradecer su labor en esta y otras iniciativas, con su presencia ayudan no solamente a poder llevar a cabo esta cuestación, también aumentan la presencia de la asociación entre la ciudadanía y dan a conocer el trabajo que se realiza a diario en beneficio de los pacientes y sus familiares."
Special recognition is also given to the local volunteers who participated in the fundraising on June 6th, stationed at various points throughout Urretxu and Zumarraga. Their contribution is vital not only for the success of the fundraising but also for increasing the association's visibility within the community and disseminating the daily work carried out for the benefit of patients and their families.
Finally, the association informs those who were unable to attend the event but wish to contribute to the cause that donations can be made via the following link: [https://mihucha.contraelcancer.es/campaigns/hucha-gipuzkoa](https://mihucha.contraelcancer.es/campaigns/hucha-gipuzkoa).
