Zegama is fostering community connections through a new initiative designed to integrate residents and celebrate diverse cultures.

Zegama recently hosted the first edition of its ‘Ongi etorri Zegamara!’ project. The initiative aims to welcome individuals who have recently moved to the town, encourage residents to get to know each other, and introduce different cultural backgrounds.
The event commenced at 16:30 with a guided walk through the town. During the tour, Ixabel Elortza shared interesting historical facts about Zegama, allowing participants to discover local services firsthand.
Following the walk, at 17:30, a gastronomic gathering took place at Aitamarren parkea. Attendees were divided into groups to prepare potato omelets.
The day concluded with a dinner and snack, accompanied by music, dancing, and games, contributing to a lively atmosphere.
According to recent statistics, Zegama is currently home to 192 residents from at least 30 different origins, making up 13% of the total population.
