The Urtubi Society will serve as the herald for this year's Zumarraga festivities, coinciding with the celebration of its 50th anniversary.

The Zumarraga City Council has announced that the Urtubi Society will be this year's festival herald. The organization is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the council has decided to recognize "the significant social, cultural, and community work that the entity has carried out over these five decades in the municipality".
The proclamation will take place next Wednesday, July 1st, at 8:30 PM, from the Town Hall balcony. This year, the festive opening will occur on the eve of the main Santa Isabel day, as July 2nd falls on a Thursday, necessitating a special adjustment to the schedule.

The coincidence of July 2nd falling on a Thursday required a special 'juggling act' in the festive program.

In addition to the proclamation, July 1st will feature various other activities. In the morning, a children's park and a foam party will be held at the Zelai Arizti fronton. In the afternoon, the final of the second inter-squad 'Olympics' will take place in Euskadi Square. Municipal authorities will visit Santa María de Zumarraga accompanied by txistularis, followed by a solemn salve at the Assumption parish and a parade of 'cabezudos' with dulzaineros.
The proclamation is scheduled for 8:30 PM, after which the band 'Rockalean' will liven up the streets. The evening will conclude with 'Ixabel DJ Festa 12' starting at 11:00 PM in Euskadi Square.
