This year's competition introduces a new criterion: works will be especially valued for their ability to convey the joy and vitality of the community celebrations. Specifically, submissions must reflect the spirit of the Santa Anastasia festivities, including color, atmosphere, participation, and the lively energy of the town's events.
Participation is open to anyone interested, with each author allowed to submit up to three original and unpublished works. Creations made with Artificial Intelligence are not permitted. A wide range of techniques are accepted, including digital design, illustration, drawing, collage, painting, photography, photomontage, engraving, watercolor, mixed media, lettering, typographic composition, and other graphic or plastic arts.
Submissions must measure 21 centimeters in height by 22.5 centimeters in width, reinforced on the back with a 30 x 35 centimeter cardstock. The designs must include the text 'Urretxuko Jaiak 2026 Santa Anastasia'. The imagery should strive for gender balance, avoiding traditional roles or stereotypes, and treating differences in sex, race, age, culture, or sexual orientation without prejudice. Sexist or political claims, as well as messages or images related to alcohol or drug consumption, will not be accepted.
All entries must be submitted by 8:00 PM on June 26 at the Aizpurunea cultural center in Urretxu. The contest offers a single prize of 300 euros. The jury's decision will be announced in July on a date to be confirmed. The award ceremony will take place at the Aizpurunea cultural center, followed by an exhibition of all submitted works.
“"We encourage citizens and creators to participate in the contest and submit a lively, joyful, and expressive work that represents the image of the Santa Anastasia festivals. As a space for meeting, celebration, and popular participation, the festivals need a cover capable of capturing and conveying that same spirit."
