In the municipalities of Urretxu and Zumarraga, along the Urola river, a significant number of dead fish have been discovered. This event has caused concern among local residents, particularly from the bridges near the BM store and Clara Larrañaga park, where a large quantity of lifeless fish can be observed.
Technicians from the Basque Water Agency (URA), along with a municipal surveyor and the brigade from Urretxu, are conducting investigations and measurements in the area. Their aim is to pinpoint the source of the incident, specifically examining a potential chlorine leak originating from the municipal swimming pool in Pagoeta.
The initial report was issued late yesterday afternoon, and by this morning, the presence of a large number of dead fish in the water had become clearly visible.
