The second phase of the Gipuzkoa Inter-village Bertsolari Championship is set to commence this Friday, April 15, in Zaldibia, with the first quarter-final match between teams from Goierri and Tolosaldea.

In this initial quarter-final, the Zumarraga-Urretxu 1 team will compete against the Alegiko Boskatu team. The event will take place on Friday, at 7:00 PM, at Zaldibia's municipal theatre, in front of bertsolaritza enthusiasts.
The bertsolaris for the Zumarraga-Urretxu 1 team are Antton Fernandez, Mikel Iturriotz, and Manex Mantxola. The Alegiko Boskatu team, on the other hand, consists of bertsolaris Iker Arandia, Egoi Irazustabarrena, and Eneko Ontsalo. The championship format also requires each team to have a 'gai-jartzaile' (theme proposer) and a judge.
The 'gai-jartzaile' for the Goierri team is Leire Akizu, with Jon Mendizabal serving as the judge. For the Tolosaldea team, Pello Olano is the 'gai-jartzaile', and Aratz Irazustabarrena is the judge.
In addition to the Zaldibia session, three more quarter-finals will be held: in Azpeitia on April 18, in Hernani on April 24, and in Soraluze on April 25. Four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, which are scheduled for May 9 in Oñati and May 16 in Tolosa. The grand final of the championship will be celebrated at Aia's Probaleku on May 30.
