The commemorative events will begin this Saturday with a concert at the Basilica of San Martín de Loinaz starting at 7:00 PM. During this event, the choir will present its new album, Lau hamarkada Loinatz kantuz, a work that encapsulates the essence of its four-decade trajectory.
This performance will not only mark the starting point for a year full of activities but will also represent a symbolic moment for the Beasain-based group. Although the current members of the choir will be on stage, the event will have a strong reunion character, as many individuals who have been part of Loinatz Abesbatza over the years are expected to attend.
The album, which will be released on the same day, was recorded in February and offers a very personal journey through the group's history. The repertoire includes works that have held special significance for the choir, pieces that have accompanied important moments and are part of its memory. The program features works from various styles and composers, reflecting the diversity that has characterized the choir's journey.
Among the songs that make up the album and will be the central focus of the concert are 'Stabat Mater' by Xabier Sarasola; 'Loinatz Credo' by Javier Busto; 'Pater Noster' by Junkal Guerrero; 'Dugun Alegrantzietan', an adaptation by David Azurza; 'Gaur Akelarre' by Josu Elberdin; 'Dibujo en el Agua' by Alejandro Yagüe; 'Isildu nahi ez den hura' by Iker González; and 'Barre egin nahi dugu', a version by Xabier Sarasola.
Saturday's concert will also be the first opportunity to purchase the album, which will be available for 15 euros after the performance. Subsequently, it can be acquired at Mirentxu Liburudenda, Goierri Kopiak, and Gráficas Eguzki Inprimategia.
The 40th-anniversary program will continue on June 27 with a symphonic-choral concert at the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción. On this occasion, Loinatz Abesbatza will perform two works by Mozart, Coronation Mass KV 317 and Vesperae Solennes de Confessore KV 339, alongside the Aequus Ensemble orchestra and soloists Ana Otxoa (soprano), Lucía Gómez (mezzo-soprano), Josu Cabrero (tenor), and Jesús García Aréjula (baritone). The direction will be led by Aitor Biain.
Later in the autumn, on November 21, the third and final proposal will arrive. The courtyard of La Salle school will host a concert where Loinatz Abesbatza will share the stage with various cultural agents from Beasain, in an event designed to celebrate the anniversary jointly and communally. Participants will include, among others, Narama Abesbatza, the Music School String Orchestra, Aurtzaka Dantza Taldea, and Goizeresi Txistulari Taldea.
