The Hotz Legazpi association has made a special call to the residents of Legazpi for Friday. As part of the Udafest festival, organized by Ilinti's merchants, they will set up a solidarity pintxo (tapas) stand on Kale Nagusia, and have asked citizens to prepare potato tortillas and donate them to the association.
Two years ago, Hotz Legazpi made a similar request, and the sale of pintxos made from the 24 donated tortillas raised 451 euros, which were used to help refugees. This time, all proceeds will go towards supporting the electricity supply for the William Soler Pediatric Hospital in Cuba.
The Hotz Legazpi stand will be located in front of the Rural Kutxa bank, from 19:00 to 21:00, where the solidarity pintxos made with the donated potato tortillas will be sold.
Buy a book… and send light to Cuba!
Furthermore, local writers will also join the 'Sending Light from Legazpi to Cuba' initiative, setting up a nearby stall at the same time to sell books. They have titled this activity «Buy a book… and send light to Cuba!».
