The Legazpi Town Hall has launched a plan for significant improvements at the municipal cemetery, focusing on the renovation of 73 pantheons.

The Legazpi Town Hall will undertake a significant intervention at its municipal cemetery, with the primary goal of renovating the existing 73 pantheons. This project aims to modernize the facilities and ensure that workers can carry out burial duties under optimal safety and health conditions.
The Council is investing 48,698.12 euros in this project. The Mayor, Eric Gálvez, emphasized the necessity of this action: "We want to take a step forward in modernizing the facilities. With this work, we are adapting to current standards so that workers can perform their daily tasks with greater comfort, ergonomics, and safety."
However, the Town Hall is encountering difficulties in proceeding due to the age of some pantheon concessions. While the majority of titleholders have been located and will be contacted, there remain several pantheons whose current owners have not yet been identified. These include: Pantheon 3 and 13 in Corridor 1 left; Pantheon 23 and 24 in Corridor 1 right; and Pantheon 15, 16, and 17 in Corridor 6 right.
The Legazpi Town Hall is issuing a public call to the concessionaires of these pantheons to get in touch by calling 943 73 70 30 or emailing igine@legazpi.eus.
The renovation of the pantheons is part of a broader strategy to renew the cemetery space. Concurrently, the Council is working on an accessibility improvement project to ensure visitors can navigate the grounds more easily. The Town Hall thanks the public in advance for their cooperation in expediting this process and initiating the works as soon as possible.
