A total of 448 students from four educational centers in Beasain have participated in the «Gizaki Bitxidunak» initiative, focusing on human rights, unwanted loneliness, and emotional well-being.

The educational initiative «Gizaki Bitxidunak» has recently concluded in Beasain, impacting 448 students from Andramendi Ikastola, La Salle, Murumendi, and Alkartasuna Lizeoa. This project is part of the broader initiative «Nahi Ez Den Bakardadea eta Buru Osasuna» (Unwanted Loneliness and Mental Health), jointly promoted by the Beasain City Council and the cooperative dar-dar Gizarte Ekimen Kooperatiba. Its primary aim was to explore human rights, unwanted loneliness, and emotional well-being through theater, dialogue, and reflection.
These sessions were conducted over 23 meetings, with a strong emphasis on student participation and contributions. Organizers have reported highly positive initial feedback, highlighting the richness of the discussions generated in each session. The participating educational centers include: Andramendi Ikastola (73 students), La Salle Ikastetxea (139 students), Murumendi Eskola (108 students), and Alkartasuna Lizeoa (128 students).
Each session lasted 90 minutes, using the play «Gizaki Bitxidunak» as a starting point to foster interaction and dialogue with the students. Through the stories of characters such as Bunyipa, Mariilargi, Julia eta Julio, Tximeleta belarriak, or Bruno – Zorterik gabeko ardia, young participants engaged with relatable situations to address themes like identity, difference, loneliness, exclusion, respect, and the importance of belonging to a group. Following the performance, actors and facilitators led an open discussion, exploring emotions, needs, and human rights through key questions like: «Is being alone the same as feeling lonely?» or «What does a person need to feel part of a group?».
A key feature of the project is the creation of a final report that will compile the opinions and proposals from the children and young people. This document will be shared with the participating schools and the City Council to ensure that insights from the children's perspectives are considered in future prevention, awareness, and educational initiatives. The project underscored that we don't all need to be the same to feel part of a group, and that everyone has the right to be treated and heard with dignity.
The «Nahi Ez Den Bakardadea eta Buru Osasuna» project, originally launched in Beasain in 2023 and having seen a strong continuation in 2024, is set to be further strengthened. With the aim of reaching citizens of all ages, it will be expanded to six other towns in the Goierri region in 2026, building upon the work accomplished in Beasain.
