The workers noticed the fire as they were emptying the container. Four fire crews were dispatched to the scene to tackle the blaze.
To fully extinguish the fire, the crew had to dump the entire load onto the road, where it remained overnight. No injuries or significant material damage were reported.
Traffic in the area was restricted until Sasieta staff finished clearing the burnt material from the road.
