The Euskal Herrian Euskaraz movement will today present in Lazkao, at the Gerriko Kultur Elkartea, the gathering of independentist euskaltzales scheduled for Azpeitia on April 24th and 25th.

This afternoon, starting at 6:30 PM, the Euskal Herrian Euskaraz (EHE) movement will hold the Goierri presentation of the independentist euskaltzales gathering at the Gerriko Kultur Elkartea in Lazkao. The event aims to provide information about the upcoming gathering in Azpeitia on April 24th and 25th.
The presentation will be enlivened by the bertsolaris Maialen Akizu and Aratz Igartzabal. The Goierri EHE has chosen the Gerriko Elkartea, considering it a «referent and pioneer» in the work of euskaldunization of the region. Following the bertso session, an EHE representative will offer a brief analysis of the current situation of the Basque language and outline the program and objectives of the Azpeitia gathering. To conclude, the bertsolaris will perform on given themes, and a small refreshment will be offered to attendees.

The Gerriko Elkartea is a referent and pioneer in the work of euskaldunization in Goierri.

This gathering organized by Euskal Herrian Euskaraz has three main objectives: to reflect on how to combine euskaltzale processes with the defense of sovereignty, to position the new challenges of euskalgintza towards the direction of the Basque Republic, and to network the community of independentist euskaltzales. According to EHE, the «onslaught against the Basque language is being carried out in an organized manner», making it essential for euskaltzales to organize and defend their rights.

The need for the Basque Republic, for independence, is increasingly evident.

The movement has stated that «the French and Spanish states continue with their supremacist and linguicidal policies», which makes «the need for the Basque Republic, for independence, increasingly evident». EHE emphasizes that «the Basque language makes us Basques» and «the Basque language makes us Euskal Herria», with the language providing a national identity. Therefore, it believes that «the people of the Basque language have the right and desire to re-Basquify Euskal Herria», and aims to «channel that desire towards the goal».
