The history and transmission of bertsolaritza in Gabiria will be the focus of ETB1's 'Hitzetik Hortzera' program, where researcher Eresti Oiarbide Murua will present her work, complemented by the best performances from the 54th edition of the Osinalde Award.

Gabiria is known as a town with a strong passion for bertso. In response to this, a group of residents undertook research into the transmission of this enthusiasm, resulting in the book Gabiriako bertsolaritza eta bertsolaritza Gabirian. Eresti Oiarbide Murua, a member of this team, will present the findings of this research on this week's 'Hitzetik Hortzera' program.
The research proposal by Oiarbide and Maialen Akizu Bidegain received a grant in 2021 from Kilometroak Kultur Elkartea and Mintzola Ahozko Lantegia. Although they could not pinpoint the exact origin of bertsolaritza in Gabiria, they have compiled several key insights in the book. Oiarbide will discuss these insights, the bertso ecosystem in Gabiria, and its key figures during the program.
Furthermore, when discussing bertsolaritza in Gabiria, it is essential to mention the Osinalde Award. Established in 1973, Oiarbide will talk about the award's contribution to Gabiria and bertsolaritza. The 54th Osinalde Award competition took place last Saturday, and the best performances from the event will be broadcast this Saturday at 9:00 PM on ETB1.
