Runner Fernando Magaldi is launching the 'For Those Who Cannot Run' initiative in Lazkao on Friday and Beasain on Saturday, aiming to promote awareness and accessibility for rare diseases and disabilities.

Runner Fernando Magaldi will start a solidarity challenge in Lazkao this Friday and continue in Beasain on Saturday, with the goal of raising awareness for rare diseases and disabilities. Both events will take place from 08:00 to 14:00, and the challenge will conclude on July 5th in Quintana de Toranzón (Cantabria).
The leisure group Bakuntza has joined the challenge. Their representative, Goretti Etxeberria, emphasized the phrase: 'What is not seen, is not known, and what is not known, is not investigated'.

"It doesn't matter if you run one meter or 200 kilometers."

Member of Bakuntza
Kepa Zubiarrain, the mayor of Lazkao, and Leire Artola, the mayor of Beasain, also participated in the press conference, encouraging citizens to join the challenge. Zubiarrain praised Magaldi's 'commitment,' while Artola thanked Bakuntza for their involvement in the initiative.
Magaldi expressed his gratitude to Bakuntza and both municipalities, stating: 'As long as my body allows, I will continue running for associations like these.' The runner highlighted that 'if you follow me on social media, you'll know I always say what I think.'
Looking ahead, Magaldi announced his next challenge will be for two children with rare diseases from Aramendia (Navarra): he will run 660 kilometers non-stop, day and night for six days, to fund research for their conditions. These children have a life expectancy of 13 years, and the family requires 50,000 euros annually for research. The runner will begin this endeavor on September 13th from the Obradoiro square in Santiago and will finish on September 20th in Lizarra.
