Despite the rain dampening the final minutes, the solidarity market organized by Olamendi school in support of Palestine, held last Friday afternoon, was a resounding success. Students, teachers, and families from the public school set up various stalls in the square, selling sweets, toys, and books with the goal of raising funds to send to Palestine. A basket filled with numerous products was also raffled off.
Although the exact amount of money raised has not yet been tallied, the market organizers expressed great satisfaction with the public's response. Once the accounts are finalized, the collected funds will be handed over to the association Paz con Dignidad, which will then channel the aid to the Al Awda association for use in Palestine.
This solidarity market was organized in collaboration with several associations: Buskabaso, Beti Gazte, Lekanazpi, Hotz Legazpi, and Auzoak Bizirik. These organizations also took charge of collecting clothes to distribute among those most in need in the locality, and their assessment of the initiative has also been very positive.
